Around a quarter of all Balliol current students compete in rowing at some point during their time at College.

Old Member generosity supports and improves all areas of rowing at Balliol, from the maintenance of Ergs and Boats; travel costs to and from regattas; and essential kit for students.

​

Rowing costs around £90,000 each year to maintain at Balliol; and for rowers, with limited funds available from the College, the costs of an expensive sport are increasingly passed to students, working against efforts to make this sport more inclusive.

​
